Desert of Gold
Gently gently the wind around me picks up its pace,
Softly softly it whispers to me in its grace,
I can feel it now the voice of the wind,
Telling me how its going to end.
Now I know its true,
Quietly, quietly the white bird flew,
Free from captivity,
Into a bigger cage.
Its forgotten all that bundled up rage.
Kindly, kindly the bells ring,
They're urging me to sing,
The song of the world is calling my name,
I can't keep its rhythm out of my head,
my heart is synching up with the beat,
How much can my heart keep?
Now I'll march forward just for you,
I'll go up front and give the cue,
I'll take my turn in the lead,
Just so we can be freed.
This is the first time I've fought for someone else,
Can you hear it, the calm waves?
The tide is following up behind,
If we don't stay straightforward and true,
We'll get swept away into the ocean blue.
Time is fading, collapsing upon us,
Only the seconds we share will keep the shattered glass together,
Waiting calmly for the day,
Marching forward and away.
I'll die to protect that crimson desert rose,
That stains this world gold...
