Arriving at the Palace

A YOUNG GIRL, ROUGHLY SEVENTEEN, paced her way through the gorgeous, ornate doors marking the entrance to the Light Palace. Her skin was dark and smooth, a pleasant shade of rich cocoa. Her eyes, brown and lively, fell upon a series of royal guards and servants.

Flanking her on both sides were two similar guards that got them inside the Palace in the first place. She seemed somewhat bothered by this, passing them irritated glances every few seconds.

A boy, only five, trailed behind her, his violet eyes flickering about quizzically. Unlike his sister in every way, Kiari was fair and delicate. Long, naval-length brown hair flowed to his navel, thick and wavy. He held the hand of another girl, named Massie, who's long brown ponytail was curled at the ends. They, too were surrounded by guards.

"What business do you have here?" an official demanded. He seemed like a big-shot, somemone important.

Tekara smiled disarmingly. "We're here to meet the Queen," she announced. "We have important information to give her."

The official glared. "What business do you have with the Light Queen? Her majesty isn't seeing anyone today." He eyed the three warily. "And..excuse me, are you royalty?"

Suddenly, a small light-haired girl burst out, her brown eyes glowing with life. "Excuse me, you are making a racket," She glared up at the guard, being as she was only five foot three. Her short blond hair, curled and neat, bounced when she suddenly turned to face her guests. She grinned.

She moved down to face the guard-surrounded people. "Never keep a guest waiting, sir." She eyed the official.

He muttered something under his breath and the girl laughed a loud, joyous laugh before once again turning to her guests. "I am Luz, the Light Queen. What can I do for you?"

TEKARA STARED IN SHOCK down at the small girl, her mind reeling. "Um.. hello," she began. "My name is Tekara. Royalty of the Northern Water Tribe. The others behind me is my brother Kiari and our ally, Massie. We've come to lend you some extremely important information."

Tekara glanced warily at the guard. "Somewhere private."

Luz frowned, running a hand through her hair. She turned to the guard. "You." The guard immediately stood up straighter. Luz grinned, "Stay here, and don't let anyone inside..is that clear?"

"Yes, your majesty." The guard mumbled.

"Thank you, sir." Luz smiled and then turned back to her guests. "Follow me, please." She turned and without waiting to see if they were following her, she bounced through the gorgeous halls of the Light Palace, until she reached a room labeled: WAR ROOM.

"It's so peaceful, I never use this room." She opened the door and lightened the room with a single blast of light before sitting down at the end of a long table. "Oh, and if you wouldn't mind, could your guards please wait outside? It's just a..rule of mine."

Massie smiled at Tekara, and Kiari. Massie, and them followed Luz into the War Room. Massie looked around the room, then she heard Luz say, that she never uses this room. "May I ask why not? Its so peaceful here". Massie said, to Luz. After Tekara, and Kiari sat down, Massie sat down.

Kouzai walked into the Palace, as soon as the guards realized he was Fire Nation they nodded and let him pass, but when they figured out he was the Fire Lord they escorted him to the throne room. 'The Fire Nation's always had good relationships with the Light Kingdom, ever since my grandfather married the heir to the throne...I wonder if it'll be like this for my kids when I marry Skye?' he thought to himself. As Kouzai entered the throne room he saw Tekara and nodded, recognizing her from the time they spent trying to kill the Dark Nation Queen. Kouzai bowed as he walked up to Luz "Your Majesty, I am Fire Lord Kouzai, I have come to discuss war plans....if our nations are to be allied then we will need to make sure we're on the same page with our armies" he said.

Luz stared from the intruding Fire Lord to her guests. "Excuse me? I have heard nothing of a war." She stood up, briskly making her way towards the door. She escorted the Fire Lord inside, and then closed the door behind him. "Now," She returned to her seat. "Please inform me of this 'war', sir." She raised an eyebrow at him, her pretty eyes twinkling.

"The Dark Nation has teamed up with the Earth Kingdom, they are planning a war...knowing the Dark Nation's past, no good can come from this...." he said "Since the time of my grandmother Phantom Blade, princess of this nation, our two peoples have had a tight relationship...and in order to preserve it, I am offering you my army to help maintain your stability, if we combine our forces we can take down this threat before too much damage is made to this world...please if we can sit down preferably somewhere with a map"

TEKARA QUIETLY LISTENED to them talk, leaning leisurely against the wall. Kiari stood beside her, as quiet and as placid as ever. She was worried about Xian; he still had a ways to travel before he arrived. She wondered what kind of chaos would come of him breaching palace's defenses, if he could. In her mind, she worried for him. He always took great concern for her and it'll be wrong for her not to look after him.

Tekara passed a meaningful look at Massie, wondering if she was wondering about Xian too. Shaking the notion from her head, she quietly listened to their conversations, politely turning the scenarios over in her mind, analyzing the best defenses and offenses for this war.

War, war, war, she thought, bitterly, as her intelligent mind struggled to form her own, personal strategy. She knew it was not her place to verbalize these plans, but she still liked to have ideas. I wish it never existed!

Massie's mind lingered. I hate war talk, but its somewhat entertaining. Wonder what chaos will happen, during this...war . Massie thought. Massie then turned her attention back to the conversation. Massie then stood by Tekara, her ponytail bouncy as she walked.
