Name: Koutetsu Sano
Age: 17
Weight: 165lbs
Height: 5’10”
Gender: male
Rank: Non-bending adventurer/mercinary
Pets: Sano’s Tiger-Wolf, By-Tor, has been his closest companion since he rescued him from a hunters snare as a pup. The beast is about the size of a clydesdale or similarly large horse, his fur ebony black with dark-grey tiger stripes, and his teeth and claws razor sharp. Aside from being Sano’s companion, he is also his mode of transportation. Sano often rides him bareback, using his neckfur as reins. By-Tor is short tempered and extremely sarcastic, often rolling his eyes at stupidity and growling at those who annoy him (though he never harms anyone unless absolutely necessary).
Weapons: Being in the business of killing, Sano is always properly equipped with a variety of weapons. His usual array of arms includes a pair of butterfly gim swords (sheathed across his back), two projectile holsters (one strapped to each thigh) full of throwing knives and shuriken, a pair of nunchacku (holstered on his lower back), and several daggers sheathed in various locations on his body. He also has a “Batman” style utility belt, complete with smoke pellets, tear gas pellets, flash bang pellets, high tension ninja wire, and other items he may need for whatever jobs he’s on (i.e. poisons, acids, oil slick, etc.).
His weapons are unique in the fact that they have multiple forms and purposes. His gim swords, for example, attach at the pommel to become a two-bladed staff sword. Likewise, his nunchaku can attach to become a bo staff, rattan sticks, three or four part nunchaku, or a chain/whip type weapon. He custom makes his own weapons in order to perfect the unpredictability of his fighting style.
Hair: He has chin-length black hair cut into a style that resembles a certain Fire Nation prince during his solitary travels
Eyes: His eyes are of a normal size and shape for a Fire Nation native, though they are unusually light. Instead of the uniform black most natives sport, his are a golden hazel.
Clothes: His attire is that befitting a shinobi or otherwise lightly armored soldier. He wears dark grey pants and long sleeved shirt (both slightly baggy), black light boots, and black armor. His armor is generally lightweight; the forearm and shin guards are made of single plates of steel covered in matted black cloth, while his body armor (similar in appearance to the shoulderless saiyan armor sported by Vegeta in the Freeza Saga) is made of plates of steel layered over chainmail and covered with black cloth and padded to eliminate sound. His shirt has a hood and lower face mask sewn and tucked into the collar, used to protect his identity during covert operations.
Personality: Sano is a sarcastic pessimist with a tendency towards stoicism.
Personal Strengths: Sano is an extremely skilled combatant; well versed in the arts of combat (martial and otherwise), his fighting skills are high enough that he has a hard time finding a challenge for his skills. Sano is also a survivalist; his ability to survive in any terrain and escape detection, capture, and bondage is evidence of experience and training.
Personal Weaknesses: Sano has a hard time feeling empathy and so has difficulty making friends. All in all, he appears to be completely emotionally unavailable. He is also loyal to a fault.
Personal Hero: One of his senseis at the Fire Nation Military Academy for Boys who took him under his wing.
Likes: Money, By-Tor, fighting, the few friends he has, good food
Dislikes: benders, young children, stupidity/ignorance, tyranny (in any form), bleu cheese
Brief History: Sano was the son of a Fire Nation nobleman, his childhood spent studying politics, history, and military strategy. He spent his entire childhood at the Fire Nation Military Academy for boys, and became an extremely proficient fighter. However, though he came from a family of prestigious firebenders, he was born without the ability to bend. Upon discovering this when he was thirteen, his family then turned their attentions to his little brother, who was extremely gifted at bending. Jealous of his younger brother, he spent his next few years at school becoming a master at martial arts and other forms of non-bending combat, even going so far as to create a fighting style that specifically targeted bending types and how to defeat them. His spirit was crushed on his sixteenth birthday when his father announced that his little brother would become his primary heir rather than his oldest son Sano. Decimated by the complete rejection by his family, Sano dropped out of the academy and became a mercenary; doing whatever job that was offered to make a living. He now travels from town to town picking up local bounties to keep himself busy.
