Silent Nights (Open to River)

Erolass stood on the moonbathed balcony, in his formal robes. This was one of the few times he ever wore and official Imperial Prince's robes. But today was not just any day; it was a day that deserved proper dress. It was Erolass's wedding, or perhaps, elopement. He and Mehn were finally to be married, and Erolass decided that he wanted Eldunar, Naina and Owlan to be the only ones there. Eldunar was to be the best man, for a second time, as it was his palace and his island, and Naina and Owlan were to be the witnesses.

Eldunar didn't want anyone else there. He didn't want a grand wedding like his brother Owlan, but a private one, like his sister Naina had. Just him...and his family he supposed. He hadn't always been close with them, seen eye to eye with them, or even liked all of them, but now....well he was finally starting to get along with them.

Erolass waited outside with his brother Eldunar and his sister Naina. Owlan was inside, as he was going to walked Mehn down the aisle. He wasn't her father, but he was her employer, and that was close enough. Erolass was nervous, and it showed, because Naina grasped his hand and looked at him with a smile. "Calm down," she said, "It will be alright. You will both live happily ever after. Just like me and Airo, and Owlan and Theirastra. Trust me." Erolass nodded silently, he hoped she was right.

It seemed just like a while ago, Erolass came to her in her yearly pits fights. she was drunk, sweaty, and no doubt smelly. She didn't care though back then, it was the life she choose to live. And It would of remained her life even today, if fate hadn't came about to bring Erolass to Herself.

Now today, She was in love with the man she was to protect. Heck, they were to be married in the next few minutes. Mehn could feel her stomach turning as she was nervous and even a bit scared.

Her whole life she trained herself to expect the unexpected and handle everything thrown at her, but now it was her wedding day and it was so unknown to her. You would think she would of thought about all this for when Erolass preposed to her but even then she was lost in the moment. She really did love him but was almost starting to get cold feet though she really didn't show it on the out side.

Mehn stood on the stand as a women did some last touched on her Wedding Dress. It wasn't anything tooo fancy but it was a formal dress that her mother had worn on her wedding day. For years it was stuffed away in her family's old home (Which mysteriously stayed abandoned since the day her family was murdered. But this wasn't a day to reflect on her weakness to help them- She had a new challenege before her now.

The bride grabbed her stomach as it felt like butterflies fluttered around within her. Looking at herself in the mirror, Mehn observed her pulled up brown hair, decorated with red and white flowers. This person in the mirror didn't look like her but seem to be the closest to anything of herself than she had seen before.

The woman finished as she fluffed the bottom of the kimono. Mehn turned around to look at her and the women smiled, walking to the door so she could open it for Mehn. Owlan would be just outside, waiting for her to meet him. The door opened as mehn walked closer to the door way. Her eye set on Owlan and a small smile esacaped her lips in embaressment. Today she hadn't worn her eye patch despite her opinion against the women who dressed her and 'made her beautiful'. Instead she had grown use to holding one eye closed and looking around with her good eye. Makeup covered the faint old scares around that eye and wouldn't be seen unless you were lookiong for them.

Thank goodness this was a private wedding, Mehn was sure if she could handle anything bigger than this. A wedding like Owlan's wedding probably would made Mehn extremely uncomfortable, believe it or not.

For being such a great bender, fighter, and high ranking officer - Mehn didn't know how to handle love and all of it's ... 'perks'. ;P

Eldunar hid his disdain and disappointment. He had hoped it would've been him who would be married next after Owlan, but alas it was not meant to be. It would appear Eldunar would be the last of his siblings to be married, but nonetheless, he was happy for his brothers and sister. At least Erolass had the sense to have a small ceremony, unlike Owlan who practically halted the war efforts to marry Theirastra. Both times Eldunar served as best man.

Erolass looked over at his sister, who attempted to comfort him with her kind words. With a weak smile he nodded, but the nerves would not go away. He wasn't going to tell Naina that though, she would just insist that he was being childish if he did. Then again...ever since she had given birth to her oldest child, Aryianna, she had been much happier and cheerful, and not as cold as she once was. Eldunar began to wonder what life would be like once he had his first child...but he didn't have time to think too deeply, as Owlan stepped out onto the terrace with Mehn on his arm.

Erolass looked at Mehn and his jaw almost dropped. She was beautiful, with her traditional hair and dress, her and Naina spared no expense with the clothing and hairstyle, they had gone all out. And for a small ceremony too. Amazing the things love made you do. As Owlan and Mehn reached Erolass, Owlan stepped off to the side, and with a pat on Erolass's shoulder and a wink, the ceremony began, and Erolass caught himself staring deep into Mehn's eyes.

Mehn looked at Erolass but soon found herself looking away, blushing. He was so handsome - well more that usual and now he was staring at her. It kinda made her uncomfortable honestly. Even though she loved him, It was still strange and different for her for a man to star at her like this and her to have feeling for him also. Today was his and her day, Their Wedding day. She should be happy but it was all too unfamiliar to her.

Eventually she looked back at him, her face exaggerating the blush Naina dusted upon her face. She gave a faint shy smile as she whispered quietly, "You look.. Nice.."

Looking away again, she bashed herself mentally. 'Nice? Really Mehn... Thats all you could come up with?! ... Your an idiot..' The thoughts caused her to frown. She gave a small sigh and then looked to owlan and then to Naina, and eventuall back to Erolass after looking at each person in the room.

Her training did nothing to prepare her for this. She prayed she would not mess anything up.
