The Yin-Yang Twins

Here is the storyline if you want to know it:

At the time before 0 can remember no more creatures. Not even the writings, if there were any at that time already, tell nothing. The whole knowledge of the world begins with two rulers as the world has never seen. It was not known what kind of creature they were. Some of them thought they were spirits, others just thought they are human-like creatures. Whatever they were, they were the start of a new age. They were Yin and Yang, the two parts belonged together, so that everything was in balance. Yin took care of the day, was also charged with animal-like beings, fire and wind obeyed him. Peace also was his job. Yang, however, took care of the night, he was responsible for human-beings, water and earth followed him. He was responsible for the war. The two ruled together and were popular. But they had to die sometime.
Yang had a woman who had born him a son. He should be the first of a long line of kings who ruled after Yin and Yang. He was the first king of a successful race. Before Yin and Yang died, they asked the boy that every future king should rule in a given schema. It was that first a Yin, then a Yang and so on should rule. The boy met the request with joy, for he knew the wisdom of the two. He became the first Yin King. His son led the future tradition on and so the whole country was happy.
Every 1000 years, it happened that a "Ensouled" rose to the throne. This person was a real incarnation of Yin or Yang. This also happened after a certain scheme and he always came out of the royal family. He was good for the country, because he brought new benefits to the people.
We now write the year 5398 BYY (by Yin-Yang). People have been waiting an eternity for the next ensouled. They are afraid that they had been abandoned by Yin and Yang. Even the king is dying, but his successors will not continue the tradition. But no one would have thought that two children, twins, might be the ensouled. There are a boy and a girl, 17 years old. They do not know it by now, but it is up to them to save the world as they know it. They are Yin and Yang in a new form, they are the next ruler. Her name is Zsófia and she is the Yin, his name is Alasdair and he is the Yang. But before the two know their fate, it experiences the Prince and he wants them dead at any cost. The two are indeed twins, but who are they really? Are they people or are they so mysterious as before Yin and Yang?
Can the direct the world into the right channels again? Or is it all hopeless, and they will die?
