| The First Plot - Invasion of the Dark Nation - 400 YAFO to 420 YAFO- Spoiler:
Unfortunately, the peace was not to last, and the Dark Nation--a nation entirely made of Dark Benders--began to release massive armies and war machines, ones that could destroy the world and bind each nation to it's will. The Dark Nation began to invade neighbouring nations and Kingdoms and began their dark campaign to take over the world. The Dark Nation easily conquered the Light Kingdom, nearly wiping all of the Light Benders off the face of the earth for good--though a few managed to escape to the safety of Ba Sing Se.
All of the Nations stood agains the Dark Nation, all of them united under the leadership of Fire Lord Honno-ji--grand father of future Fire Lord, Fire Lord Kouzai I. Honno-ji united the other nations armies against the Dark Nation, but unfortunately, his strong leadership was not to last. After his son, Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, Nobura, and his daughter-in-law, Princess Iwa-jima, were killed when their boat was destroyed and smashed to pieces by the Dark Nation Navy, Honno-ji sank into a small depression.
Though he was still very--if not more--determined to destroy the Dark Nation armies, though his plans became more reckless and wild and his winning streak began to decline. Things took a turn for the worst when an entire Dark Nation Assissination Force, led by Lord Ibu of the Dark Nation, stormed the Fire Nation Capitol, broke into the palace, and assassinated the Fire Lord in his sleep. The rest of the royal family fled by morning--after quickly burying the Fire Lord--and the recently Crown Prince Kouzai--son of Nobura and grandson of Honno-ji--became acting Fire Lord in his family's stead.
The group escaped to the safety of Sozin's Island, where they hid in the confines of the Hall of Fire Lords, hoping to hide and command their armies and country in secrecy until Ibu and his Dark Bender armies fell. Unfortunately this was not to be, the enchantments that were placed around Sozin's Island to protect it from intruders were broken, and Ibu and his armies stormed the beach and the Hall of Fire Lords and slaughtered the entire Royal Family. This marked the end of Fire Nation participation in the war, as Ibu claimed the Fire Nation throne for himself and ruled De Facto for many years to follow, and converted all of the Fire Nation army into Dark Nation soldiers and began his campaign on the Earth Kingdom next. The Second Plot - The End of Darkness - 420 YAFO to 425 YAFO- Spoiler:
5 years after Lord Ibu became Emperor Ibu, Supreme Ruler of the Dark and Fire Nations, and after he slaughtered the entire Fire Nation Royal Family, Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, Kouzai, is trained and ready for revenge. Though it initially appeared as if he was killed by Ibu's army, he survived, though not after attaining some facial scars, and trained in both Fire and Lightning bending as well as with his twin broadswords. Now that he is 16, Kouzai began his search for revenge and Emperor Ibu.
Kouzai started his travels by heading from Ba Sing Se to the Souther Water Tribe, in search of his old friend, Ma Chao. Once he reached the Fire Nation however, he soon learned that Ma Chao had left and he was no where to be found. However, he ran into a young water bender boy named Wabty, and his cousin, Lee Chang. Together, the three of them headed for Ba Sing Se, still searching for Ma. There they ran into two new friends, Kalilili--a young fire bender who had escaped from her father's wrath and soon fell in love with Kouzai--and Lu Peng, a young Earth Bender who enjoyed tea and reading. Eventually the group flew to Sozin's Island in order to hatch Kali's dragon, Rashana. Eventually the group headed to Omashu and found another friend, Melody Sven.
Together, the entire group headed to the Fire Nation Capitol to eliminate Ibu. However, the attempt failed, and the group was forced to retreat. During the battle, Lee was killed, and Kouzai and Kali fell in love after his funeral. Togther, the group remained on Kouzai's house on Ember Island and trained there until they were ready to mount their attack on Ibu at the heart of his Nation. This time, they recruited the help of the Earth Kingdom and they fought Ibu and his army on the beaches of the Dark Nation. Ibu released a massive cannon to destroy his enemies, but it back fired and destroyed the entire Dark Nation, binding it to the Spirit World and killing Ibu and his Dark Benders.
With the Dark Nation destroyed, Kouzai returned to power on the throne, Kalilili became his queen, Lu Peng became Earth King, Ma Chao was found hiding in an Air Temple claiming to be on vacation, and Lee returned to life after the final battle. However, the final battle was not without it's losses and resulted in the death of Melody Sven though they did meet a young Fire Bender named Lynn who instantly became friends with the group. While the other Warriors are sent out to train for three years and track down specific weapons for their elements, the spirit of his father trained Lee in all the elements.
After three years of training, Lee met up with Phantom in the Light Kingdom after his father went missing and Lee decided to call the rest of the gang together to investigate. After much deliberation and searching, Lee discovered that his father was locked in the Spirit King’s Castle along with the Spirit King, and that the Spirit King was usurped by a shadowy man. Lee and the rest of the Warriors rushed to the Spirit Castle and broke into it.
After freeing Kouzai and the Spirit King, the Warriors rushed to the Throne Room to confront the usurper king. The Eleventh Plot – The Ullondorian Crusade – 707 YAFO to 722 YAFO- Spoiler:
Inventor and explorer, Fa Kudo, under funding from the Elemental King, has rediscovered the New World which Owlan fought in several years ago. With no prior memory--due to the pact made between him and those who lived there--Owlan cannot warn Fa Kudo of his mistake. Fa Kudo found that the land was inhabited, not by benders, but by magicians and wizards. Created by the Creation Spirits before the benders were, they are stronger and more powerful than benders. They have a population of dragons which they bind together with in order to keep peace between the wizards of the world. Fa Kudo introduced himself to the Magicians, and then returned to the Elemental Kingdom in order to tell the Elemental King.
The Magicians were furious by Fa Kudo's appearance, and thinking Owlan has betrayed their pact, they plan a force to interrupt the 7 Nation Summit--which they saw through a vision--and remind Owlan of their pact. Meanwhile, the Elemental King was pleased with Fa Kudo's news, and decides to call a 7 Nation Summit in order to reveal Fa's discoveries to the other Nations. As the 7 Nation Summit drew nearer, so did the Wizards and their Dragons. On their way to the Summit, the Magicians attacked the Elemental Kingdom, completely destroying it, and leaving the entire land in ruin.
Several hours later, they converged on the Summit, and in the confusion and battle that ensued, they killed the Elemental King, Dark Lord and Light King. However, Raiden—using his Spirit powers—managed to subdue the Magicians, and force them to retreat to Ullondor. Shortly after, the Six Nations rallied their armies, and declared war on Ullondor officially.
After a year of preparation, in 708 AO, the Vermilion Imperial (with both Light and Dark Bender divisions), Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe armies arrived at the New World with their first wave of soldiers. The initial landings came from the Earth Kingdom and Imperial Armies, with the Earth Kingdom taking the Founder’s Island, and the Empire taking Akkaera Village. After both nations colonized their new territories, and setup a base of operations, the Earth Kingdom moved eastward to Kouthael Faction to subject them to naval raids, with the Imperial Airship Forces helping out in the sky. Meanwhile, the Imperial and Water Tribe armies banded together to create the first Union Army. A joint army that bound both nations together in unison, with a single goal: take the Thaef Faction. Shortly after the union of the armies, the Water Tribes—with the help of the Empire—and managed to take the village of Fis, giving the Water Tribes their base of operations in the New World
At the start of the New Year in 709 AO, the Union Armies placed a pause on their military marches. They waited for reinforcements and supplies to arrive from home, and three months later, when they finally arrived, they began their joint march on the capital, Byd. After both armies marched on Byd, it took three weeks for them to lay siege and finally take down the walls of the city. It was another three weeks before the castle fell, but eventually, Thaef Faction was claimed in the name of the Union Army and divided up between the Water Tribes and the Empire.
At the height of their military prowess, the Empire and the Water Tribes disbanded the Union Army in 710 AO and prepared for their planned attacks of Flassaelen and Orinnea Factions, with the Empire and Water Tribes attacking respectively. In the frozen north of Orinnea, the Water Tribe had one goal, march straight to the capital of Aerea, and ignore any small villages along the way. Due to the frozen nature of the land, speed was imperative, so the March to Aerea needed to be executed with speed. However, the march was slowed by constant ambushes and rebellions. This slowed down the march for an extra two months, however, when the Water Tribes finally reached the city, they caused it to cede with ease and quickness.
Meanwhile, in the south, in Flassaelen Faction, the Empire had withdrawn airship support in Kouthael, and gathered them for a massive airstrike. Moving from border to border of Flassaelen, covering every inch of the province, the Empire used their airships to rain fire down upon the forests of the province, and burn every inch of it to the ground. After a year, the entire province was burned to the ground and annexed into the Empire.
However, the following year, 711 AO, would be the beginning of a long halt for the war efforts. Constant rebellions in Orinnea caused problems for the weakened Water Tribe armies, who were also left without supplies in the freezing yearlong winters of the northern province. Secondary supplies and reinforcements were coming from the Six Nations, however, constant delays caused them to not arrive for 6 months. When they finally arrived, it took another 3 months for them to arrive at Aerea City. However, the Water Tribe’s problems were not over, as they spent another 3 months deliberating how to divide up their soldiers and supplies so that a portion could remain behind in Orinnea to quell any further uprisings. These delays helped contribute to the failure that was the planned Invasion of Meach.
As the Water Tribe could not help in the Invasion by attacking from the northern beaches as plan, leaving the Empire and the Earth Kingdom to attack alone from the south. Without a distraction from the north, all of the magician forces in Meach were focused on the southern beaches where the two nations landed their attack. Although the Empire and the Earth Kingdom had managed to advanced 75 kilometers into Meach territory, they were held at that 75 kilometer mark for the remainder of the year in a military stalemate. After 3 consecutive months of fighting, an armistice was called for the rest of the year. A deal was reached between the Empire, Earth Kingdom and the Magicians of Meach, who agreed that so long as the Imperial and Earth Kingdom forces did not attempt to cross the 75 kilometer line or make any further advances, the magicians would not attack them. Owlan attempted to use this armistice as a method of buying time until the Water Tribe had sorted out their problems and attacked from the north as planned.
Finally, in the early months of 712 AO, the Water Tribe armies landed on the northern beaches of Meach Faction. In an attempt to defend their weakly defended northern front, the Meach magicians divided their forces in the south in half, and sent one of the halves to deal with the Water Tribe in the north. Owlan and the Earth King saw this as their opportunity to strike, and after having renewed their ranks and supplies during the armistice, began their attack again. The tables would turn in favor of the League of Six Nations until mid 712, by which time the Empire and Earth Kingdom had advanced 300 kilometers deep into the province, almost a quarter of the way through, while in the north, the Water Tribe had made it to almost 200 kilometers. However, the tables soon turned back again, towards stalemate.
The remainder of 712 was spent in another armistice, with both sides scrambling to find an alternative method or battle plan to defeat the other. The Invasion of Meach resumed in the following year of 713 AO, upon the eve of the armistice’s expiration, the League’s forces attacked the magicians. The fighting would last for the next five years, until 717 AO, and would include such famed battles as the First, Second and Third Battle of Meach Plains, as well as the Miracle of the Western Plains, the Battle of the Northern Beach, the Siege of the Temple. The fighting came to an end after the successful Siege of Aelara, wherein Meach was divided by the Water Tribes, Empire and Earth Kingdom and subsequently annexed.
In 719 AO, after a year of rest and reciprocated shore leave for all of the armies, the League of Six Nations returned with restored supplies and ranks, ready to take down the last remaining faction, Kouthael. The Empire used their airships and navy to blockade the waters and bombard towns, cities, villages, hamlets, and major roads and trade routes throughout the faction, in order to weaken them internally. Meanwhile, the land forces attempted to fight their way through the mountains, and into the heart of Kouthael, however, despite all of their efforts, never managed to make it to the capital, and instead were pushed south to the swamps, where the rest of the fighting would be contained to until 721 AO.
In the final year of the war, the League managed to push their way northward out of the swamp and towards the Great Lake and the capital. In a matter of two months, they managed to make their way to the Great Lake, at which time, the armies halted, and camped while the League’s leaders were called to the Founder’s Island on important business.
Upon reaching the Founder’s Island, the monarchs had discovered that the tombs of the Founder’s had been opened, and what was more, several tomes and artifacts had been revealed which showed that the five Founders were a race of pre-human demi-gods, who were sent down by the Spirits to watch over the New World and their magicians, as the magicians were originally a testing race. The tomes and artifacts also showed that the origin of benders was from a land known as Nippon, where benders had always lived. They learned of the tribes of Chi benders who became Light and Dark benders, and those benders who became Water, Fire, Earth and Air benders. They learned of the 1000 Years of Darkness where the world was left without benders, until the Nipponians came in and conquered the 4 tribes, restoring the bending gene to everyone, and Owlan learned that his ancestor, Konoe—who would become the first Fire Lord—had come from Nippon, claiming to be of divine ancestry, and was one of the founding members of the Four Nations. Owlan had the entire tomb cleared out and shipped back to the Empire for safe keeping in the Imperial Archives of his palace, and had the bodies of the Founders moved back to the Empire as well, to be reinterred in a grand shrine to please the Gods.
Shortly after, the Kouthael magicians returned with another wave of soldiers, attempting to crush the League’s armies. As the battle raged on, the monarchs met on the Founder’s Island to discuss how to end this war. It was not enough to force the magicians to cede, as eventually they would rise up against the Six Nations, and as they were stronger, they would not be stopped. Finally, after much deliberation, it was agreed that—with much regret—they would have no choice but to end the war by use of the Genesis Cannon. The weapon of Owlan’s had been perfected, and attached to an airship known as The Genesis. The League spent the rest of 721 evacuating all Six Nation soldiers and civilians. Owlan also ordered that every library, school, and scholarly archive or building be emptied of all archives, books, tomes, records, relics and artifacts and sent to the Imperial Archives as well.
In 722, when all preparations had been made, and everything and everyone had been removed from the New World, Owlan and the other monarchs flew The Genesis and the Cannon over Ullondor, and activated the Cannon. The Cannon struck as a two fold attack, as planned, the first step sucked all of the life out of the entire land of Ullondor. Every last living being, from insect to animal, from fish to magician, from tree to bird, everything down to the last blade of grass was instantly reduced to dust, ash or bone. All of the life energy of the entire land of Ullondor had been absorbed and converted into pure destructive energy, which was then unleashed in the second half of the attack. The power harnessed from the land of Ullondor was so strong, that is pierced through the entire continent, and eventually destroyed it, causing it to sink beneath the waves. After this use, the Genesis Cannon was sent back to the Six Nations, and buried and sealed beneath the Spirit King’s Palace, never to be used again. Mini Plot IV – Peace Once More – 722 YAFO to 736 YAFO - Spoiler:
On his way home from the New World, Owlan made a detour to the Empire of Nippon, the land where his family claims ancestry. Eager to see the land where bending originated from, he followed the charts and tomes towards the Island Empire, and landed in the northern island land of Kamui. Owlan was instantly recognized and taken in by the Oina tribe, who explained to Owlan that his line, the line of Ezofuji, derives its name from the Twin Volcanoes that rise up from the northern land. In the Nippon tongue, Ezofuji means Divine Gift, as they were granted by Daidarabotchi and Kanatta to protect the people of this world from Ameria's wrath. Every year, the mountains erupt, to ensure a plentiful spring. It is said that the land of Kamui was once a perpetual spring, but to ensure balance, the Gods allowed winter to settle in for half of the year, and every year, the people of the Oina tribe must pay homage to the Gods at the Ezofuji Iriwaku Shrine, who then allow the mountains to erupt, and cause spring to return.
Owlan learned that his ancestors were also Divine Gifts; which is why he shared his name with the mountain. He learned that his ancestor, the first Ezofuji, was a man named Nagi, who travelled the land of Nippon during its early days, and used his prowess as an Oina warrior and swordsman to defeat evil beings and save the land from darkness. Thus starting the tradition Oina hunting demons in Kamui and Nippon. Nagi eventually passed from this world after his final fight, and was laid to rest in the Izayoi Shrine along with his sword, Tsumugari. Owlan, after hearing this, realized that this is why Konoe went to the Six Nations, in order to live up to his father’s legacy, and become a hero to a whole new group of people. With this in heart, Owlan thanked the Oina for their kindness, and vowed to return and free the Oina from Nipponian rule. Once a mutual agreement by both peoples to live together as descendants of Sceter had turned sour, and had meant lessening rights for Oina peoples under Himiko in recent years, and a lack of appreciation for the time and effort the Oina put into keeping the land safe.
Owlan kept his word, and returned three months later with an army 500 000 strong, and blockaded the entire Island Empire by air and sea. He marched to Queen Himiko—who had taken over for the retired Emperor—and demanded she cede her lands to him, in the name of the God F’yr, the hero Nagi and the ancestral line of Ezofuji. Himiko—who sought to take control of the Vermilion Dragon Empire herself—refused and began a war with Owlan and the Empire.
While Owlan’s soldiers bravely fought—and won—most of the battles throughout Nippon, Owlan returned to the Home Land to visit his family. Upon doing so, he was called to Raiden’s palace, and was told that he had been chosen to become the next Spirit King. Owlan agreed, and abdicated the throne to his brother Eldunar, who would be Emperor until Owlan’s son, Izanagi, was old enough to rule. Owlan then died—as was required of the Spirit King—and Eldunar took the throne. Eldunar, under Owlan’s request, then ended the war with Nippon, by killing Queen Himiko, and forcing the Emperor—who was more than willing to sue for peace—to cede all the lands over to the Empire, turning the Empire of Nippon into the Vermilion State of Nippon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world has remained at peace, and intends to remain that way for the long while. Soldiers finally return to their families after 15 long years, and the Earth Kingdom has completed the rescue efforts in the Burned Lands, and is well on their way to restoring them to their former glory. The world is safe once more to travel, and enjoy to it’s fullest, and the clouds of darkness have finally parted.
Upon returning to the Six Nations, the Empire and Earth Kingdom entered into an agreement whereby the Earth Kingdom would give up the Burned Lands to the Empire for 15 years, in which time the Empire would pay for repairs done to the land in exchange for all of the profits, taxes and goods produced within those lands in the time allotted, after which point the Empire would return the land to the Earth Kingdom. The Empire also grew closer with the Water Tribes, as a cousin of the Emperor and last in the line of Ezofuji-no-Amaterasu, married into the House of Leihing.
Many months after life returned to normal in the Six Nations, Owlan and Eldunar jointly called a Six Nation Summit once more, this time to discuss the creation of a Medical Corps, to act as healers in the next war or coming disasters--to minimize losses. After agreeing upon the details for the Medical Corps and Summit protocol, Owlan brought up the Tailed Beasts, found deep in Demon Island. After showing the royals the terrible power of the demons, he agreed that in order to prevent their theft or discovery in the future, he would distribute them out to each of the nations evenly, in order to help maintain a balance of power and to teach the Tailed Beasts that they no longer need hate humanity and to learn to coexist peacefully alongside them.
